…dia de més carreteres amb llargues rectes entre camps de fenc (farratge) i gira-sols. Poca gent, moooolt poca gent. De tant en tant ja està bé, però cal anar amb compte ja que quan arriba l’hora de dinar no hi ha massa opcions on triar (al contrari del que passa normalment, amb una oferta més que saturada).

This is a Sioux (Oceti Sakowin—specific nation not specified) dress from ca. 1900, probably South Dakota. It’s a wool cloth dress decorated with dentalium shells, silver, ribbon, brass, beads, sequins, and quills. I can’t find a good source, as it doesn’t appear to be in the NMAI’s online gallery, but it was part of a New York exhibit by the National Museum of the American Indian called “Identity by Design: tradition, change, and celebration in native women’s dresses” and you can find some cool details and interactive things from the exhibit online. It’s one of my favorite dresses ever.
